I li...Just to regress a little to the AIG bailout. I listened to a program on PBS on this subject and it enlightened somewhat. It seems they evolved from an insurance company to a giant hedge fund specializing in credit default slots (to the tune of several trillion dollars (lost)in the housing meltdown (you probably know all this but I am just getting it in my mind. Part of their "bigness" is in pension fund holdings that were invested also!<BR/>Anyway it seems to have evolved into to one giant scam (to me)and I can see why it is "too big to go down". This, to me, serves as an example that things can never be the same in the financial world. the cycle is completing. There will always be those who will try to "beat the system" and sometimes accomplish it. Capitalism is a simple concept; corruption is a complex reality that is too strong for such a simple concept.
