Lazy, late-summer days have been in short supply of late.
The oldest goes back to college tomorrow. Meanwhile my wife and I (mostly her) have been preparing for the upcoming year in homeschooling.
While my priorities have kept me away from the blog, it's not as if nothing has been going on.
This morning on the Jerry Bader show, Ribble, McCormick, and Roth faced off in what was, without a doubt, the most substantive discussion among them so far. I listened, but I was at work, so my attention was mostly elsewhere. I am reserving judgment on the winner until I can watch or listen to the debate again.

I love how some folks try to distort a a persons voting record by misrepresenting the political process.
Early votes on legislation are used to move legislation along through the process so they can get to the floor to be debated, amended or changed. The vote is to move the legislation, so you can change it, not approve it.
If you fail in your attempt to change the legislation to something you can support you vote no on the bill.
Even in municipal government I have made the motion or seconded a motion to accept a budget so we could debate it and eventually voted no on the budget.
Without the first vote, you can't even discuss it. Understand the legislative process.

I'm not convinced Brad's take was a slam dunk by any means, but it was good information nonetheless.
